Verfied views for a £2billion redevelopment of Filton Airfield outside of Bristol.
Proposals for redevelopment of the 350 acre site included 2,675 new homes and 24 acres of office and industrial employment. The proposed development also included the construction of a community centre, three schools, two nurseries, a GP surgery, sports facilities, shops, restaurants and a hotel. The outline scheme also made provision for a 30- storey landmark tower, which was approved by councillors in October 2017.
The location of the urban renewal scheme is situated on the site of the disused Filton Airfield in Bristol. Each verified view consisted of a 180° panoramic visualisation of the proposals including large towers and lower residential buildings, from key viewpoints around the city to illustrate the impact of the scheme on the local landscape and assist with applications for planning permission.
Outline planning permission was issued in March 2019 by South Gloucestershire Council for the redevelopment of the 50-acre site on the former Filton Airfield. The consent includes the development of up to 2,675 dwellings, 24 hectares of employment land, two primary schools and a secondary school, community facilities, provision for a new rail station and significant public open space / sports facilities.
