Masterplanning of landscape design for an award winning Winery in the Kent countryside.
Rbmp worked collaboratively with Design Quarter Architects in order to prepare the illustrative masterplan for the development of the Hush Heath Winery site including their new Bottle Store, Distillery and Wedding Venue.
The site itself is a 400acre estate set within the Kent countryside and is one of a limited number of visitor attractions in the UK to have achieved a Gold Award from Visit England.
Given the rural landscape of the site key considerations during completion of the project included how the new buildings would assimilate with the wider existing vineyard and buildings on the estate and how to create a clear distinction between the private operational buildings and the more public aspects of the site including the Wedding Venue.
Rbmp provided support, research and documentation for the proposal masterplan. A detailed landscape specification was created as part of the project, which set out detailed plans for the meadow planting, soft planted areas, boundary hedges, woodland areas and trees. The proposal included details of the native plant species and tree species required and the location of each within the landscape taking into account the need to maintain consistency throughout the estate and the views across the estate and vineyard.
