Photorealistic montages to assess the impact on the local landscape of a proposed residential development of 120 homes near Dorchester.
Rbmp were commissioned to create photorealistic montages of a number of key viewpoints for a proposed residential development of 120 homes including 42 affordable homes and the development of an access road into the site in a sensitive area near Dorchester.
The location of the site is in close proximity to a number of listed buildings including Wolfeton Manor, which raised concerns over the sustainability and impact of the development on the local landscape. As such the project team were asked by Historic England to provide photo representations of how the development could be seen from a number of specific viewpoints.
Summer and Winter aspects were prepared to demonstrate how the existing perimeter foliage differs across the seasons and the contrasting visual variation across the landscape focusing on the visibility of the development at different times of the year. An illustrative overlay of the parameter heights of the proposed windows and roof lines was also created to indicate what was visible within the surrounding area and aspects of the site which were not visible.
